Ski/Ride Instructor

Responsibilities

  • Ski/Snowboard Instructors will serve as a professional representative of Song and/or Labrador Mountain.
  • You will be a part of an independent team dedicated to creating the best possible environment for taking and teaching a ski or snowboard lesson.
  • You will recognize that service is our product and helping guests have great vacations is our primary job.
  • Maintaining safety and skier/snowboarder responsibility as top priority while skiing/riding and teaching.
  • You will instruct group and private lessons of varying ability levels, as assigned.
  • Instruct students of any age, sex and learning ability, as assigned.
  • Make continued effort to improve personal skiing/riding skills, teaching skills and knowledge.
  • You will serve as a public relations representative for SkiCNY, both on and off the job.
  • Greet and assist guests in a friendly, helpful, respectful manner.
  • Adhere to the Employee Handbook for SkiCNY with regard to procedures, including grooming, dress and behavior standards.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Maintain good humor and cooperative attitude in all dealings with guests, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Look for ways to better serve the guests and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION (PERFORMANCE STANDARDS)

  • The Ski and Snowboard instructor is evaluated on performance of duties, teaching ability, communication skills, level of guest service, attitude, attendance and punctuality, attire and grooming, initiative, guest comments, student return rate, skiing/riding ability and improvement relations with co-workers and guests, technical knowledge, willingness to improve (participation in clinics and discussions, free skiing/riding, PSIA and AASI certifications, etc.), professionalism and mature judgment.
  • Instructs skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities on how to improve their ski/ride skill, while providing a fun and effective learning environment.
  • Must have flexible schedule and be willing to work weekdays, weeknights, weekends and holidays.
